Use your interests. The data set must be quantitative. It needs to have between 30 and 50 pieces of data. It should contain data no older than the last 5 years. You also need to include the source of the data.
You'll need this for Wednesday. Use the Internet, magazines, newspapers.
If you do not have your own data set for Wednesday, I can provide you with a set to use, but there will be a 20 point penalty against your grade.
On Wednesday, in class, you will be given a short time to begin this assessment.
Obtain your own set of data (source cited) (20 points)
Create a stemplot of your data (20 points)
Create a dot plot of your data. (20 points)
Describe the data set in terms of its shape, center, and spread. (20points)
Draw a conclusion about what the shape of the data means in terms of the observational units (20 pts)
You'll do most of this on your own outside of class.
This will be due Friday.
