Final Exam Project

For your Final Exam, you need to find a study on the web, Create a presentation of the statistics found within it and present to the rest of the class. You will be awarded points according to where your work falls using the rubric below.


Criteria

0 points

25 points

50 points

Type of statistics

A stat textbook or statistics course type of posting where concepts are explained.

A descriptive statistics web site.

A study reporting results using inferential statistics

Your explanation of what it contains

Minimal explanation. You do not demonstrate an understanding of what the study is presenting.

You make some correct commentary on aspects of the study but demonstrate an error in your understanding of the statistical concepts being presented.

You demonstrate a full understanding of the statistical results of the study and correctly use statistical vocabulary to explain what is presented.



Here is an example (PDF) of an acceptable study for full credit. I'll have an example of a slide show to accompany it soon.

You'll have class time 6/1, 6/2, 6/7 and 6/8 to complete and tweak your presentation. You'll do your presentation either on 6/9 or 6/10.

Here is where you can submit a copy of your presentation. This is due by 2:30 pm June 8th. I need your name to award credit.
