Final Project

Personal Finance Final Project

Choose some area of interest. I’ve had people complete this work around beagles and rabbit hunting, showing cattle, working as a logger, a baker, buying fashion accessories, buying a new computer, buying and selling on ebay. selling on etsy.com, buying selling on amazon.com and many other topics that I can’t think of right now.

You need to research and create a slide show. It must contain the following:

Exactly 20 slides Each slide will auto-advance every 15 seconds.

Your job is to include as many ideas from what we have been studying since January into your presentation as possible. We want to be “wow-ed” by what you are able to incorporate into your presentation.

On Tuesday – Thursday June 4, 5, 6  we will see your presentations. You will stand in front of the class and present your research in an Ignite presentation style.

Here is how you are going to be graded on this Final Exam presentation.

Slide Show Grade

Points 0 1 2 3
Completion Less than twenty slides.   Twenty slides, fewer than 5 words or more than 9 words on any one slide. Twenty slides, between 5 – 9  words per slide with a graphic on each slide.
To earn the points below, your slide show must be completed
Graphics Student uses superfluous(unrelated) graphics or no graphics Student occasionally uses graphics that rarely support text and presentation. Student’s graphics relate to text and presentation. Student’s graphics explain and reinforce screen text and presentation.
Mechanics Student’s presentation has four or more spelling errors and/or grammatical errors. Presentation has three misspellings and/or grammatical errors. Presentation has no more than two misspellings and/or grammatical errors. Presentation has no misspellings or grammatical errors.
Personal Finance Topics Less than 3 topics from what we have studied 3 topics from what we have studied 4 topics from what we have studied 5 or more topics included from what we have studied this semester

Presentation Grade (one grade will be the average of your peers’ rating and my rating of your presentation)

Points 0 1 2 3 Points Earned
Organization Audience cannot understand presentation because there is no sequence of information. Audience has difficulty following presentation because student jumps around. Student presents information in logical sequence which audience can follow. Student presents information in logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow.
Subject Knowledge Student does not have grasp of information;  Student cannot answer questions about subject.

Student only reads what is on slides;

Student is uncomfortable with information and is able to answer only rudimentary questions. Student is at ease with expected answers to all questions, but fails to elaborate. Student demonstrates full knowledge (more than required) by answering all class questions with explanations and elaboration.
Eye Contact Student reads all of report with no eye contact. Student occasionally uses eye contact, but still reads most of report. Student maintains eye contact most of the time but frequently returns to notes. Student maintains eye contact with audience, seldom returning to notes.
Elocution Student mumbles, incorrectly pronounces terms, and speaks too quietly for students in the back of class to hear. Student’s voice is low. Student incorrectly pronounces terms. Audience members have difficulty hearing presentation. Student’s voice is clear. Student pronounces most words correctly. Most audience members can hear presentation. Student uses a clear voice and correct, precise pronunciation of terms so that all audience members can hear presentation.
